Advanced Exhibits Grossology Edutainment Exhibition Sets All-time Record Attendance Levels at Renowned Canadian Science Center

Mall Venues Added to Five Year North American Tours

May 9, 2000 - Advanced Exhibits, today announced that its Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body exhibition has set all-time record-breaking attendance levels at Canada's world-renowned science center - Science World British Columbia in Vancouver.

"During the March break period, when local schools were on vacation, more than 38,000 people visited the Grossology exhibition at Science World over a nine-day period. Our attendance is up 39 percent compared to last year, with the exhibition setting all-time record attendance for this period. Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body successfully bridges the gap we continually confront, joining education and entertainment," stated Science World CEO and President Bryan Tisdall.

Following the Science World appearance, Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body will visit theme parks and major mall venues, further expanding upon its marketability and reach to children. The multi-tour, science-in-disguise exhibition will be showcased at Ontario Place in Toronto beginning May 20 through May 22 and will open daily from May 27 through September 4, 2000. Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body is also appearing at the world's largest shopping center, West Edmonton Mall, from May 27 through September 4, 2000.

Based on the best-selling book, Grossology, the 6,000-square-foot exhibition features imaginative activities, challenging and sophisticated animatronic displays to teach kids and intrigue adults about what the body's biology does to stay healthy.

For instance, visitors can find out what causes runny noses with visitors nine-foot-tall animatronic character, "Nigel Nose-It-All", climb a large-scale replica of a human skin, or play "Gas Attack" pinball and score off bumpers disguised as foods that cause gas.

The Grossology exhibition combines the value of education and entertainment with technology, which is an ideal solution for many venues who are looking to offer an insightful experience to the public. This is why Grossolgy has caught the interest of several unconventional, non-education-based venues - including theme parks and malls," stated Advanced Exhibits' Chief Operating Officer Terry Sparks.

Including the traveling exhibition, the Grossology theory - the idea of teaching science through "gross" things - has spawned a series of new Grossology books, including Animal Grossology, Grossology Begins at Home, Hands-on Grossology and possibly a television show.
